Keeping track of homeschool attendance doesn’t have to be deep. Whether you’re following state requirements or just want to maintain good records, having a simple system in place can save you time and effort now and later on.
That’s why I created this free one-page Homeschool Attendance Tracker—designed to help you stay organized without the overwhelm. I know everybody doesn’t like designing little sheets like I do.
what’s inside this attendance tracker
- One-page, letter-sized PDF—print it out or use it digitally in a note-taking app like GoodNotes.
- Track attendance for two students over ten months of the school year all on one page.
- Customizable space up top for writing the school year and semester.
- Easy-to-use key to mark present and absent days at a glance. Use a symbol or colors that make the most sense for you.
why you’ll love this attendance tracker
What’s most useful about the Homeschool Attendance Tracker in this format is that it keeps everything in one place—no more flipping through pages to find attendance records. Whether you follow a traditional, year-round, or flexible homeschool schedule, this tracker adapts to your needs. Fill in the left column with the months that you are in school, starting when you need it.
I set up the Homeschool Attendance Tracker so that you can just check off or color in whether the child was “in school” or not easily each day. Check the box, color it in, initial, whatever you need. Plus, it ensures your records stay neat and accessible if you ever need to report them. Stay organized with ease, for free.

Since this one tracks two students at a time, hopefully you can save a bit of paper. If you use note-taking apps, this is a great download for that as well. You can create a new and fresh page as needed. Or, plop this page right into your digital planner—super simple.
The left-hand column is pretty versatile. I would use the top segment to write in the name of the student you are tracking and then each below for the corresponding month(s). You may also find it useful to track by subjects if you do school another way in your home. The right side tracks simply by number from 1 to 31, so that it is fairly flexible and straightforward.
