Moment of honesty: the first day of school stresses me out. As a child I loved it. New notebooks, fresh outfits, and all the optimism in the world. For me as a teacher now, I think I take all that and turn it into pressure for myself. I’ll address it with my therapist later but in the meantime, I try to come up with ways to make the first day of homeschool fun for the kids and myself.

The All About Me coloring page is already something we are loving, and we’ve only used it twice.
I created this quick little sheet as an activity for our first day of homeschool last year. I’m hoping it’ll become one of those back-to-school traditions that really warms the heart in the end. So far the kids both liked filling it out. (They do both appreciate a good coloring session.) Plus it’s a handy task to let them work at while I prep for a lesson.

I only created my own sheet because the ones I found online were either too question-y (my eldest is learning to read and write now) or the children didn’t look anything like mine do. So this ones for the curly haired kids!
I decided to create them for all ranges from 2 years old on up to 6 years old for now. I think after that I’ll want different questions answered so will likely update it at that point.

This downloads as one PDF with all ages from 2 to 6 years old, with both a boy and girl version. I created the page in the first place because all of the similar styles I found online were made with kids who didn’t really look like mine.
